BLANKS

SLFD (Scrimless Fiber Design)

SLFD is an innovative method of blank design and construction, which was completed through long-time collaboration with HYDRA FISHING, KIGAN’s special US partner.
SLFD without the fiberglass and carbon paper scrims used in ordinary ROD blanks does not contain materials with a low modulus that inhibit vibration, and it can provide a platform for clearly transmitting vibrations and increasing the sensitivity of the blank.
High-quality carbon fiber cloth, which is 29% thinner and 9% lighter than traditional materials, is fitted with the correct resin matrix. After it is high pressure rolled, a composite is made. It’s 4% tighter than the previous design method, so its durability is secured.

X-HELICAL COIL CONSTRUCTION

The X-Helical Coil structure twists it with the carbon thread in a spiral direction, has wide X wrapping, and reinforces the coil once again. It minimizes spine (back bone phenomenon) and distortion phenomenon, increases the torque of the blank, and improves compressive strength.

Multiaxial CARBON TECHNOLOGY

Since the rod blank has a laminated structure, a spine (back bone phenomenon) occurs, which causes an invisible ‘distortion’ when manipulating the rod.
KGX M. AXIS CARBON TECHNOLOGY adds several axes to the existing two-way carbon blanks to prevent this distortion and improve the maneuverability, power, and stability of the rod.

TPB (Triple Patterns Blank) TECHNOLOGY

KGX TPB method designs it in three different patterns using materials of different properties to fully achieve the purpose of the blank required in the field.
The most distinctive feature of the TPB is that the angler with three patterns can implement the most ideal action and performance by focusing on each section in order to attack and subdue the target fish. So it allows for more detailed design and more flexible response to the demand in the field during the product development process.
KIGAN has made blanks to give anglers even more power through continuous testing and supplementation by genre.

UHC EDITION TECHNOLOGY

KGX UHC Edition realizes performance beyond imagination by not only making the density and elasticity of the existing blank carbon material more ultra-high density and ultra-high elasticity but also reducing the amount of resin to the utmost limit.
KIGAN has already used SLFD blanks to reduce the amount of resin as much as possible through collaboration with HYDRA FISHING of the USA. Furthermore, it reduced even the minimum amount of resin to almost zero and increased the level of adhesion of carbon fiber to overcome the limitations of existing blanks. Thus, it succeeded in building an innovative design system.

X-TORQUE BLANK TECHNOLOGY

Everyone knows that a lighter rod is better to control. It is easier and faster to cast, and shows better movement.
But what about the strength? What about the distortion? Finding the right balance between the weight and strength of the rod and overcoming the backbone phenomenon, a disadvantage of the laminated structure, is a problem that the rod makers have to solve.

In studying to reduce the weight and increase the strength of rods, rod makers use materials with a high content of carbon fiber and few synthetic resins. As a result, the rod becomes light, slender and stretchy, while its strength decreases. And, as you think it’s not enough and use less amount of synthetic resin, the rod breaks more easily. It is a combination of materials that may solve this dilemma. A typical carbon rod structure has two directions (90 degrees and 0 degrees with the rod as the axis) and is made by lamination.

X-TORQUE adds 45 degree and 135 degree axis to this basic structure and makes a structure which can thoroughly prevent the distortion of the rod. Not only is this structure surprisingly strong against distortion, but it also provides one step higher performance in all aspects, including better power, casting accuracy, and sensitivity. To be sure, X-TORQUE is one of the most advanced fishing rod blank manufacturing methods.
